In the third year of the CHEK Academy every individuals will complete C.H.E.K. Practitioner Level 2 and the CHEK 4 Quadrant Mastery Coaching Program. Please note if you attended the C4Q live event with Paul Chek (therefore will receive the online version free) you are eligible to apply for option 2 HLC2 & CP2.

November 2016 – Each student will receive their first correspondence course Swiss Ball Training.

Swiss Ball Training

Developed by Paul Chek, the pioneer of Swiss Ball training for athletes, this course will teach you how to use this excellent tool to improve balance, posture and dynamic strength, plus train righting and tilting reactions. Used in rehabilitation since the 1960’s, Swiss balls are now becoming popular in training environments. There are literally hundreds of uses beyond performing a crunch over the ball! However, as with any training tool correct usage is essential to achieve the results you are seeking.

The deadline for completion of the Swiss Ball Training Exam is the is the 30 November.

December 2016 – Each student will receive their copy of Advanced Swiss Ball Training correspondence course via the e-learning platform.

Advanced Swiss Ball Training for Rehabilitation

This course shows you how to apply the science of biomechanics and kinesiology to advanced assessments and functional training techniques using the Swiss ball. Paul shows you how to use the Swiss Ball for rehabilitation and injury prevention. You will learn how to identify postural problems and instabilities using Swiss ball assessments. After completing the course, you will be able to develop these assessments into corrective exercises, with appropriate modifications for the condition and training level of your client.

The deadline for completion of the Advanced Swiss Ball Training Exam is the is the 30 December.

Refresh anatomy, and then study, at a much deeper level, the functional anatomy of the spine in preparation for C.H.E.K Practitioner Level 2.On completion of C.H.E.K Practitioner Level 2, many practitioners start to work alongside Doctors and Orthopaedic Consultants so knowing the medical terminology is essential.In order to work closely with other specialists or with your clients alone, you will have to understand key points from imaging reports such as X-Rays and MRI scans. We show students how to read reports and show common areas of interest in scans.

Sports conditioning: The secret to working in professional / amateur sports

C.H.E.K Practitioners all over the world are renowned for the advanced work done to help many different types of clients. However, many practitioners excel with working in the Elite Professional and Amateur Sports arena. This 2 day workshop is both practical and theoretical and covers the main points of conditioning athletes from Olympic lifting to periodisation programs for both on/off seasons. This is a must for all who work with professional or amateur athletes.

May 2017 – Dynamic Medicine Ball Training (Manual + 7 DVD’s) will be sent to each student. This is the last of the prerequisite requirements for C.H.E.K. Practitioner Level 2.

Dynamic Medicine Ball Training

Medicine Balls can be used for a wide range of purposes from rehabilitation to explosive training or endurance training. Due to the dynamic capabilities of Medicine Ball Training, there is a high functional carry over into athletic performance and every day life. Paul Chek’s course teaches the science and application of medicine balls including program design for optimal performance, including criteria for choosing repetitions, sets, intensity, rest periods and speed of movement. Medicine Ball Training provides excellent variety in movement patterns, speed of movement, functional eccentric loading and adds an excellent dimension to the programs of any personal trainer, athlete, athletic trainer and/or strength coach.

Learn how to identify red flags as a necessary system of preventing injury through exercise. C.H.E.K Practitioner Level 2’s learn spinal biomechanics, neurological screening, essential orthopedic screening tests, length/tension assessments, corrective stretching, specific corrective exercise technologies, and how to refer to allied medical practitioners. Advanced level postural assessment using goniometric technology gives the C.H.E.K Practitioner Level 2 the ability to design highly specific corrective exercise programs. The C.H.E.K Practitioner Level 2 is an invaluable addition to any medical practice treating work, sports, and recreational orthopedic injuries. They are also key contributors to the professional sports medicine and conditioning teams.

C.H.E.K Practitioner Level 2 Learning Objectives:

  • Learn how to perform a goniometric assessment of posture and relevant joint range of motion.
  • Learn to perform an effective screening of each individual, ruling out any red flags through careful examination of medical history, orthopedic assessment, and length/tension assessment.

C.H.E.K Practitioner Level 2 Review Workshop

At the level of C.H.E.K Practitioner Level 2, students may be working with highly complicated clients and, as we call, ‘Medical Failures’. For this reason, your skills using ALL your CHEK Advanced Training willbe tested. On this 2-day workshop, we review all assessments from the C.H.E.K Practitioner Level 2, including how to set up your assessment
sequence. We also demonstrate how both your Musculoskeletal and HLC assessment findings should be used to complete a specialisedCHEK program that works, using all of your CHEK training.

We highly recommend you prepare a case study to bring to this review workshop to ensure you get the most out of the 2 days.

Case Study Requirement
Each case study should include results of a full C.H.E.K Practitioner Level 2 assessment and client programs following assessment including periodisation.

November 2016 – In this month students will attend the 5 day Holistic Lifestyle Coach Level 2 advanced training program on the 16 to 20 November 2016 in Lancashire.

The Holistic Lifestyle Coaching Level 2 course builds upon the foundational principles covered in HLC 1, teaching you how to apply these with clients and patients. You will also learn Paul Chek’s HLC principles of coaching; essential for a successful Health and Lifestyle coaching practice. You will be guided to fully understand and apply the rationale behind physical and metaphysical assessment, wellness program design strategies, as well as the finer points of coaching for long-term lifestyle changes.

For this reason, this workshop focus’s on the structure you must adopt in our to gain results with your clients and ensure all systems are followed. We also cover how tohold a presentation as a HLC level 2, and all students are given a HLC Presentation that they can adapt to their own business.

CHEK Renewal

Please note that all students will need to renew their status with the C.H.E.K Institute by the 15 December 2016. The renewal fee is paid directly to the C.H.E.K. Institute and is addition to the monthly academy fee.

Why does the C.H.E.K Institute have a renewal program?

The purpose of the C.H.E.K Institute renewal program is to ensure recognised C.H.E.K Institute-Trained Professionals demonstrate a commitment to expand their knowledge and enhance their professional competency. For this reason, recognised C.H.E.K Institute-trained Professionals are required to renew their Advanced Training every 2-years.

C.H.E.K. Institute Professionals – Joining the CHEK Europe Academy

Students who have already completed any of the pre-requisite correspondence courses or advanced training programs can still apply to join the academy. These individuals will receive a tailored made quote excluding the courses they have already completed within 2 weeks of submitting their application.
